Rooted in Community + Representation

Pippi + Lola is proudly Latina and women-owned, LGBTQ+ led, and deeply committed to working with other POC- and women-owned small businesses.

From the plants we source to the ceramics we display, we intentionally support local makers, growers, and creatives who reflect the diversity and richness of our communities. When you work with us, you’re not just getting beautiful biophilic design—you’re investing in a broader ecosystem of equity, visibility, and inclusion.

We believe representation grows beauty—and we’re proud to design with purpose, identity, and community at the core.

Hi, I’m Dynelly — founder of Pippi + Lola.

I didn’t grow up in a greenhouse, but it sure felt like it.

I got into plants after my background in interior design, where I discovered the power of plants in transforming spaces. My family is from Puerto Rico, and I was raised between Puerto Rico and Florida, a place that is lush and full of plant life. Growing up around such natural beauty made me appreciate how plants can enhance an environment.

I originally studied mathematics and started my career in the fashion industry. But interior design was always calling. I eventually found myself working as a Spatial Designer, creating immersive commercial environments—and that’s when the plants came in. I began integrating greenery into my builds, not just as decoration, but as a key part of the emotional and sensory experience.

When the world paused…

Then everything paused. I was six months into designing a 120,000-square-foot space when COVID shut the world down. My first thought? “What’s going to happen to all these plants?”

I brought them home. Fostered them. Studied them. I learned how to truly care for them—how to treat diseases, how to repot, how to listen. That’s when plants became more than part of the project—they became the passion.

My loved ones encouraged me to do a plant pop-up, and that seed became a movement. I rented a space in Long Beach, signed a 3-year lease, and built a full-on plant studio. I brought in my horticulture mentor to teach workshops, and together, we created a space where plants and people could thrive. That space brought in a wave of commercial clients—and I knew it was time to focus.

Now, through Pippi + Lola, I bring luscious, intentional plant design to businesses, creatives, and community spaces. My work is rooted in design thinking, biophilia, and a deep love for the living world.

I do things differently. I assess each space with care—checking for moisture levels, plant health, light exposure, and environmental flow. I can tell when a plant is thriving or just holding on. I work with skilled professionals to provide regular maintenance, offer curated recommendations, and when necessary, use faux plants that still elevate the energy of a space without the stress.

Why Biophilic Design Matters

Most people love the idea of plants—but don’t realize the care, thought, and intention it takes to make them thrive. That’s where we come in. Too often, we walk into a space where the plants are just… surviving. Overwatered. Sick. Covered in pests. Or worse—just there for show.

Biophilic design is so much more than a couple of potted plants. It’s a philosophy—one that says our environments should make us feel better, calmer, more alive.

Here’s the truth: we’re bored with cookie-cutter plant design. We create spaces that ignite something in you. That make you want to sit down, look around, breathe deeper, stay longer.

For office spaces, this is essential. Your team doesn’t want to work in a sterile white box—they want to feel like they’re working from their favorite park or an inspiring outdoor space… while still being comfortable inside.

Whether it’s a commercial space looking for a morale-boosting, nature-rich atmosphere, or a residential nook that needs a little green magic, we make spaces where people want to stay, breathe, and connect. Ready to create your luscious oasis?
