In preparation for their grand opening, the client sought to add the perfect finishing touches to their retail space by incorporating greenery that would bring warmth, character, and depth to the floor. They were also looking to partner with a provider capable of managing the ongoing care and maintenance of the plants, ensuring they remain vibrant and healthy over time.

As their grand opening approached, the client aimed to bring life into their space through the addition of greenery. However, they faced challenges due to low natural light, particularly in the dining area where they envisioned incorporating plants. Their goal was to create a warm, inviting atmosphere where patrons would feel comfortable and want to linger. In addition to the design, they also sought a local partner who could provide long-term care and maintenance for the live plants installed.

Our Process

To elevate the dining area, we installed  custom arrangements of trailing and upright faux plants featuring a variety of textural foliage to add dimension and visual interest. Faux greenery was chosen to eliminate maintenance concerns and prevent issues such as soil or fruit flies from affecting the dining experience. In the adjacent retail space, which does not serve food, we incorporated low-light-tolerant and low-maintenance live plants—including burgundy ficus and lemon-lime dracaenas—to introduce rich, contrasting colors that thrive in low-light environments.

To further enhance the coastal vibe of this beachside city, we installed air plants with moss on driftwood above the retail area. These soil-free plants provided a natural, artistic element while ensuring food safety near edible products.

Results

The plants truly brought the space to life! We transformed what was once a dark, sterile environment into one filled with greenery, whimsy, and a sense of lightness. The result was a welcoming atmosphere where people genuinely wanted to spend time.
